Pre-Summer Pool Planning: Last Minute Tips To Prepare Your Pool For Peak Usage Season In The North Dallas Area

With Memorial Day now behind us, we’re now at the start of the prime residential swimming pool season.

Whether you live in Plano, McKinney, Allen or any other part of the north Dallas area, your hard work this winter and spring can mean more pool time, more backyard events and even more memory-making moments by your pool this summer.

It’s an exciting time for family, friends and neighbors, but if you haven’t started your pool activities quite yet, there’s still some time to get some preparation work in.

To help you out, below are some quick and simple items to get on your to-do list before you start your poolside activities this summer.

Prepare Your Newly Remodeled or Resurfaced Pool Experience

If you’re like many of our local customers and you’ve had some recent work done on your pool – whether through a remodel, a renovation, a resurfacing or a replastering project – there are some things you can do to make sure the transition goes smoothly.

Highlighted in a past blog post, keep in mind any potential cure time for new pool finishes.

That time can range depending on your particular project, but it’s an important step to ensuring a long-lasting finish.

There are many other aftercare items that your pool contractor can help you out with, but making sure you follow their recommendations is important – and keeps you from having to do more work this summer to correct any issues you may run into by not following those recommendations.

Water Levels

If you’re a seasoned pool owner, you likely understand pool water levels quite well.

As swimmers enter and exit the pool, combined with typical evaporation water levels can often lower naturally, so making sure you have your refilling process in place is important for maintaining a safe level for your swimmers.

If we get excess rain, keeping an eye on overfilling is also important.

And if you’re finding yourself with unusual water levels due to leaking, there might be larger problems afoot (see more on this below).

Keep Things Tidy

Again, for the experienced pool owner, you know the importance of keeping your pool area and water tidy and clean.

Not only does this create a better experience for your swimmers, but also helps keep your pool surface and equipment in good shape over time.

Watch Out For Signs Of Wear And Tear

The more your pool gets used, the more naturally occurring wear and tear you’ll have over time.

This wear and tear – if unnoticed or unchecked – can lead to bigger problems down the road.

Remember your pool area isn’t just another line item of your property – it’s an investment in your summertime backyard memories for your friends, family and neighbors.

We at Morton Pool Solutions, sincerely wish you and your family a wonderful swimming season this year – and if you are able to keep an eye on the items above, you should be able to show off and enjoy your pool’s unique brilliance again this summer.
