The Summer Countdown Begins: How To Get Your Swimming Pool Project In Before Summer Hits In 2025

With May just around the corner, summertime is closer than ever this year.
Summertime for most means a break from school, vacations and much more time outside in their backyard pool area.
Before the outdoor fun and planning can begin, however, pool owners have to get their pool “summer ready”.
Beyond usual maintenance, if you have any ambitious plans for renovations, remodels, resurfacing or replastering, you’ll want to make sure you get your project started sooner rather than later.
If you wait too much longer, you’ll really be cutting it close in order to get your project in before summer hits in 2025.
In addition to this, many pool contractors’ project queues are quite full this time of year, so if you have a particular contractor picked out (see more on that below) it’s best to get them circled in on your project as soon as you can.
To help you out and set you down a path to getting your pool projects done in time for summer, here are 4 quick steps to take as soon as you can here in the north Dallas area.
1. Fully Understand What Pool Project You Need
Different kinds of projects will often mean different turnaround times so fully understanding what kind of pool project you need is an important starting point.
Earlier this spring I reviewed the differences between resurfacing vs replastering and remodeling vs renovations so that should help you at least get started on which type of project you need to have the pool experience you want this summer.
2. Research Local Pool Contractors Near You
Doing a few quick searches for pool renovation contractors near you should offer you a nice selection of pool companies to choose from in our area.
Have a critical eye, however — make sure to look at reviews, experience and any project photos they may have so you can determine the best one for your particular project.
3. Pick The Best Pool Contractor (Not The Cheapest)
Getting something done quickly doesn’t mean you have to sacrifice quality – you’re likely to do this if you opt for the cheapest available contractor.
As mentioned in a previous post here, there will be signs that you’ve hired the right pool contractor and one of those will be that you’ve chosen quality over cost.
Choosing quality means you’ll be in a better line for a quality summer in your backyard.
4. Prep Your Pool For Your Pool Contractor
Being prepped for your pool contractor includes clearing away any backyard equipment and pathways so they can get to work right away.
This can also include draining your pool and letting your pool contractor know about anything else related to your pool that may be needed during your project.
While the time for getting your pool projects in before summer is shrinking, there is still time for you to improve your pool experience this year.
And if you follow the steps above with your local pool contractor, you should be well on your way to bringing out the unique brilliance of your backyard area again in 2025.
