Morton Pool Solutions Resurfacing Project

With yet another summer coming to a close here in the north Dallas Metroplex, we’re heading into some cooler temperatures as fall creeps into the area.

You likely have some weekends left to enjoy your pool – including the upcoming Labor Day weekend – to create even more memories before the end of the pool season.

After your pool season comes to a close (or perhaps before) you’re going to want to take a closer look at some key areas to see if you might have a pool renovation in your forecast this fall.

If, however, you find yourself needing a smaller project, like a resurfacing project – it’s one of the most common types of improvement you can pencil in on your schedule.

Resurfacing, while not as extensive as a full renovation or remodeling project, has to be planned and coordinated properly to make sure you get the highest quality finish that will last as long as it can before your next resurfacing project.

What Is Pool Resurfacing?

If you’re an experienced pool owner, you likely already know what pool resurfacing is, but for newer pool owners, pool resurfacing is the process of renewing a pool surface: the layer that goes over the concrete base of your pool.

Pool resurfacing is both a necessary part of owning a pool and an opportunity to give it new life, with a wide array of colors, styles and textures to choose from.

That said, you want to find the right pool resurfacing partner – not all pool contractors are the same, so here are some things you’ll want to ask or look for when choosing your pool resurfacing contractor this fall.

1. Look For Experience

Swimming pools can come in all shapes and sizes and have many different types of materials that make up its overall architecture.

They can also be situated in many different orientations relative to your home and backyard areas.

That said, you’re going to want to work with an experienced contractor that has worked on a wide array of swimming pool types.

They’ll be much better equipped to offer you the right pool resurfacing project that fits your particular needs.

They’ll also likely see things in advance that a less experienced contractor might not catch until its too late – costing you time and money on your project.

2. Check Their Recent Work

As always, you’re going to want to check the most recent work and reviews your pool contractor has – locally.

An active review and project profile is a sure way to know that your pool contractor is both popular and proficient in your area.

3. Ask About Materials They Use (Don’t Go Cheap)

As with anything you do with a home improvement project, you don’t want to go cheap with your pool contractor.

Cutting corners or using subpar materials can mean your resurfacing project might not be of a high quality – leading you to have to have it redone by another contractor.

4. Ask About Scheduling

A proper pool contractor will have a great handle on their schedule, allowing you to know exactly when they’ll start and when they can expect to wrap up.

If your pool contractor is hesitant on giving out exact timeframes, it could be a clue that they may not have a firm handle on your project – a definite red flag for your resurfacing project.

5. Book Your Pool Contractor Early

Now, if your pool contractor does have a nice handle on their schedule, make sure to book them in advance when they’re available.

A popular resurfacing contractor will book up quickly, so be sure you get on their schedule to make sure you can work with them.

Resurfacing your pool is just another necessary part of owning a pool in this beautiful part of Texas we call home.

Even with its smaller project scope, it’s smart to invest in an experienced, local contractor to help you get the job done right.

Your pool isn’t just another ornament in your backyard — it’s an investment in endless backyard memories for you and your family.

By following the steps above by hiring the right pool resurfacing contractor, you can be well on your way to keeping that investment protected this fall – and beyond.
